A portrait session typically takes between 5-7 Hours. With a 9am start time we tend to wrap up around 4pm. We take breaks to stretch and move around throughout, as well as an hour long break for lunch outside of the studio.
There will be no refunds regardless of outcome with an understanding that this is a painting of you from live observation, as I see you, in conversation. It will be painted to the best of my ability, with my full attention, and in my style. We will converse throughout your session as well as share quiet time together as I paint you seated across from me at a table.
Live portrait work is very cerebral for everyone involved, for the person being painted as well as the artist who is capturing the subject (me). Due to the shared vulnerability, be prepared for a potentially very emotional experience. Seeing your likeness from someone else’s perspective can be intense. Keep in mind I am not painting a snapshot of you, I am painting you in motion for an entire morning. Once your order has been placed we will schedule an upcoming day that works for both of us to have you in the studio.
To best serve my community , I will cover up to half of the cost of your session if you are in recovery and have at least 3 months alcohol free / sober time, (sober being defined by you and your relationship with the experience as it is very personal) . Helping folks create visual monuments of sober milestones in their personal timelines is an honor.
